As the founder and convener of TalkFooty, one of my biggest dreams has always been simple — to sit across from top footballers, listen to their journeys, and help tell their stories to the world.
From the very beginning, I knew it wasn’t just about goals and trophies. And over time, I’ve been fortunate to begin checking off some of the biggest names on my bucket list.
My very first one-on-one interview came in 2023, with Sadiq Umar. That moment was unforgettable. Sitting face to face with a player I had watched and admired, we delved into everything — his upbringing, his injury struggles, and the path that led him to the top. It wasn’t just a conversation — it was a reminder that every footballer is human before anything else.

Fast forward to AFCON 2024, the opportunity grew even bigger.
